    How 'bout those Texans!
    Monday 09-08-2008 6:53am CT

    Davies here kids.

Let's not mince words, the Texans sucked on Sunday.  There's no two ways around it.
The offense was miserable.  Matt Schaub therw 2 picks, but it probably should have been 3.  The running game was bad.  The line was abysmal.

The defense was atrocious.  The only player who showed me anything was Mario.  As a whole, the defensive line got blown off the ball ALL day long.

The coaching was miserable.  I thought going for it on 4th and 1 at midfield in the 1st quarter was an emotional decision.  And how about a half time adjustment?  Whatever Richard Smith said at he break didn't work, because the Steelers came out to start the 2nd half by marching 71 yards straight down the field for a TD.

So ... what do you make of the loss?  Is PITTSBURGH that good, or is Gary Kubiak's team that bad? CLICK HERE to tell me what you think!

How many games will the Texans win ... and who's going to the Superbowl?
    Thursday 09-04-2008 6:13am CT
    Davies here kids.

The Texans kick off their season Sunday in Pittsburgh.  It seems as if people's expectations of this team are all over the place.  I've heard some folks suggest that this team is capable of winning 12, while others say they won't win more than 6.

I think Gary Kubiak's crew is headed for another 8-8 finish.  As much as I like the direction of this team, I still think they're probably a year away from being a legit playoff contender.  They don't have a lot of depth, and they have some obvious questions in the secondary.  The other problem is, they play in one of the top 2 divisions in ALL of football.

PART II ... who IS going to the SUPERBOWL?  I'll say DALLAS and PITTSBURGH in a throwback to the 70's.

*** Your turn!  CLICK HERE to tell me how many games will the Texans win, and who's going to contest SUPERBOWL 43 in TAMPA on FEBRUARY 1st?

Hey Texans fans ... don't be surprised if ...
    Wednesday 09-03-2008 6:42am CT
    Davies here kids.

We're just a few days away from the start of the '08 NFL campaign.  It's time for another rousing edition of DON'T BE SURPRISED IF ...

I'll give you a few of mine-

Don't be surprised if ... Matt Schaub starts every game this season.  I know some folks think the guy has a glass jaw.  I just don't see that.  There's certainly no extended history of that.  I expect Schaub to stay on the field this year.

Don't be surprised if ... The offensive line ends up being pretty good.  For years we couldn't keep David Carr upright.  He's gone, and this line has some new blood, not to mention a new mentor.  Alex Gibbs has been successful everywhere he's been, I suspect he'll do a good job here.  It may take a little time, but I think we'll notice the results.

Don't be surprised if ... The Texans struggle to win 8 games.  Trust me, I'd love to see a playoff run, and I think it's POSSIBLE, I'm just not so sure that it's likely.  This is a young team with some good talent, but they're in a brutal division and they have a rough schedule.  I think this team is a year away from being a LEGIT playoff contender.
